Why I love denim on denim

I didn’t think I was edgy enough to sport an all-denim outfit, but that was before I bought this chambray Kendall + Kylie button-up. I wear it at least once a week, because it goes well with practically every pair of pants I own and it’s lightweight enough to handle the weirdly chilly, yet still humid October days.

When I put this outfit on, I definitely felt like I was paying tribute to JT & Britney Spears, but in a toned down, “no regrets” way. Bless them. Those outfits were such a statement!

My style has always been so neutral—I’d choose black over any color, any day—but I love blending neutrals (denim) with something risky (fringe). It’s fun to invest in a classic denim piece that’s a step above ordinary, but will stand the test of time. Ever since I sold all of my clothes on Instagram (more on that story here), I’ve been more conscious about what I buy, how much I spend, and where I buy from. This is why I love Nordstrom Rack, because they partner with a lot of ethical, smart brands.

I love how versatile denim is… Light wash, dark wash, black or white, you can create so many looks and cast a different vibe with each kind. This blouse with my favorite Gap sculpt jeans (sold out on Gap’s website, but I did see some brand new ones here on Poshmark!) is one of my favorite staple outfits.
