A Rare Snow Day in Tulsa

“I smell snowww.”

-Lorelai Gilmore, the OG Snow-Lover.

A few weeks ago, an unexpected snow storm hit Tulsa. It hardly ever snows here—we’ve had quite a few ICE storms, though—so my sister and I went out to take some rare snow pics. While we were exploring, we found this sweet gravel road right off one of our favorite streets in town.

Talk about a winter wonderland! After visiting D.C./Fredericksburg and Huntsville, AL, this past week, I’ve been aching for some more winter weather like this. I think cold weather without snow is kind of sad, and also, a little unnecessary. Garrison would beg to differ, though--he loves cold weather, regardless of whether or not it's snowing. Anything above 50 degrees is too hot for him.

I love the concept of layering different styles and patterns, so I wore this wool sweater from Loft that my mom (hi Gina!) bought for me a few years ago. It's so cozy, and has cute little jewels sewn into the pattern along the top. I found a similar one here at Rue La La that is just as cozy and has that sweet vintage pattern around the neck, as well.

This coat from Gap is my favorite outerwear piece right now. I bought it for over 50% the retail price at my local Gap store. It's such a flashy statement piece, and I love that it looks like a drumline jacket mixed with a pirate coat. The red granddad collar and the chunky gold buttons are so funky.

I've linked all of my outfit details here below, so just click on the picture to check out the pieces I'm wearing, plus a few others that are similar. Oh, and if you live in a snowy place, do me a favor and send Tulsa some of your snowy weather!

xx,

Em
