Date Night: Brookside.

I was surprised with something very exciting this week...

Garrison, my stud of a boyfriend, picked up a camera for the first time this week, and took these....

Like, what evennnnnn. He's too much. So talented at everything.

Garrison and I love date night for a lot of reasons: we get to spend time with each other (duh), we always have fun, and we love to try new things together. This past week, we decided to do something a little crazy even for us: swing dancing!

I heard awhile back about a church on Brookside that teaches swing dancing lessons every Saturday and was immediately interested in going. I've always wanted to learn how to dance, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity to go test it out in a no-judgement zone :) It was sooooo fun--by the end of the night we actually had the hang of it, too! The instructors are so helpful, and they don't make you feel silly when you can't rock-step (or don't even know what a rock-step is).  The first half-hour is the lesson (there are beginner and intermediate options), then they open up the floor to everyone and play some sweet big band music. It's three hours of unique, cheap entertainment--basically perfect for poor college students and big families.

We will definitely be practicing this week, and (hopefully) heading back soon!

All the hearts,

EM.
