A Harry Styles and Gucci Inspired Outfit
A few posts ago, I talked about how fun it is to let other people’s fashion inspire your style. I love doing this, and I’m always screenshotting and repinning outfits that I want to try out myself. Sometimes it’s more of a wish list, showing me what pieces I need to add to my “To Buy” list. Other times, it’s an enlightening experience that shows me how to create a new look with pieces I already have.
This past week, my friend Alyssa found the most amazing look worn by Harry Styles. He has on a super classic yet funky Gucci blazer that was, of course, pink, and we both fell in love with the way it was styled. I knew I had to recreate it asap.
the Gucci blazer…
I didn’t already have a pink blazer and since it’s key to the look, I did have to buy one. I substituted Harry’s Gucci blazer for this Bershka linen blazer that I found on Depop. It’s double-breasted and light pink like Harry’s, but I love that it’s made of lightweight linen rather than cotton, making it perfect for warmer spring days. It’s lightly lined, so it has great structure without being overly stuffy.
the shirt…
So Harry wore what looks like a polyester shirt to me, but is probably—definitely—not that. It was blue, so I took that detail and ran with it. I’ve had this denim shirt for almost 5 years, and it’s so soft and probably the best layering piece of all time.
the tie…
I actually do own a tie (remnants of private school), but I didn’t even consider wearing it. Scarves are the perfect accessory, and I couldn’t pass up wearing this black and white one that I bought at a local secondhand store. To get it thin enough to fit under my shirt collar, I twisted it tight, tied the knot, then twisted it again. If you have struggles tying scarves, here’s a great IGTV on tying scarves multiple different ways that Jess from @jesswithless put together.
Here’s a courtesy pic of my phone case because even though I’m not a full-on VSCO girl, I do love stickers… especially Harry Styles and Gucci ones.
With love,
Emma
